"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"
BRISBANE,QUEENSLAND,1949
Sunshine.Summer storms.Lightning.Heat.Humidity.
Tall wooden houses on stilts to capture the thin breeze.
World of slow.Walking.Bicycles.Few cars.Still horses..
Which means saddleries.Horse Troughs.Horse manure.
Aromas.Scents,Odors.Smells.Sweet like after rain
'when water evaporated slowly from roadways .
Frangipani.Nasturtiums.Wattle.Creak of sheltering trees.
Croak of frogs from swamps.Call of wild night birds.
Stillness of nightwalking.Heat of day walks.
By water-beach waves,creek trickle,waterfalling.
Slow as speech descending into silence.
Everywhere meditates ancient rhythms. We are temporary.
Birds wake up mornings. We greet fresh sunlight.Blink/uncertain.
