"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth, Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" (The wondrous poetpic is by Jack McCabe, who I hope forgives me for scribbling all over it with Photoshop)
Dressed like a flower, he walked into the garden
he knew he might be made smaller via weed criticism
he
had planted himself in this soiled world / between sky blue
and
dirt brown-green to all this / wild as winter. She rainbowed him
squeezed
clouds so he might harvest seeds. Trust next crop
might
emerge sans emotional drought. Saps and seedlings sprouted
simple
as light.Sun-kissed.Birds,bees,butterflies winged in
It
was Zen he began to sing! Mild first, like coo of baby breathing
Little
as lilt of rippling laughter. Before roar of full adult
he
realized links with all living consciousnest-a field of starflowers
Before
lilies-sunflowers!Harvests of hopefulness in cycles and seasons
We
(all part of this) aware and sentient-living prayers of light and life
itself
Intrinsic!
