Rick Wakeman Expands King Arthur And Henry VIII

Prog-rock legend Rick Wakeman will release two of his most successful albums as expanded CD/DVD Deluxe Edition packages for the first time.
The Six Wives of Henry VIII and The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and The Knights of the Round Table will be repackaged and released via Universal Music on February 2.
The Six Wives of Henry VIII was the first studio album from Rick Wakeman, reaching the UK album chart Top 10 and selling over 15 million copies worldwide. The instrumentally stunning album is based largely on Wakeman’s banks of keyboards, and also features former band mates from The Strawbs and Yes. It was certified Gold in America in 1975 and was awarded a Platinum Record at Midem.
Wakeman’s third studio album, The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and The Knights of the Round Table, reached Number 2 in the UK charts on original release. The album was inspired by Nancy Brysson-Morris’s book The Private Life of Henry VIII, a childhood favorite of Wakeman’s. The album reached Number 2 in the UK Album Charts, Number 21 in the US Billboard Charts and is his third consecutive album to be certified Gold.
Both albums have been remastered at Abbey Road and now feature an accompanying DVD element which feature new quadrophonic mixes of the iconic tracks.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
