THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

COMPASSION&

EMPATHY ARE ON THE LIST

Replaced by race hate,religious discrimination,and irrational anger

Gentleness and equality are going fast-displaced by LGBTQ  harassment and heterosexism

Our Borders are emotional now,colored by cultural interrogations

(We would not have survived such if indigenous had been so cruel)

Yellow -cheeked warblers,blind bats and salamanders are next

As soon as we have removed wage equity and religious freedoms

All walls are metaphors for human conditions-like privitised prisons and "private"schools

Check your emotions at the door of the Future-love and trust?or fear and hate?

The way we treat ourselves and others can expect no better for birds,bees,flowers,forests

You know this.You beam your best.The weight of this world can depress /suppress/repress

The key out (and on) -is to express!To undress that intemperate naked Emperor who would whip the tides

fiddle while Rome burns,and embody every cliche Twitter can fit in an early morning text.

We have free will and choice.I will do my very best.Not to endanger the rest.
