THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

RE-VERSING EVERYTHINBG

ALL WE DID NOW HISTORIC

Timelines disrupted/venues shut down

Those whose sunlight cured existential pain

Now shuttered with the others on a home train

Now divorces rise,and domestic abuse

Now we find out who we really are

Not by what we used to do/more by how well we adapt

Some of us are not recluses

Some see this as solitary punishment

Some have cabin fever when National Parks close

and Hike and Bike trails are closed,and gyms are closed

and libraries and cafes and bars..All our homes

stolen from our personal intimacies/our shared histories.

Now we MUST love our neighbors

Care for those for whom "social distancing"is impossible

Imposed these new conditions upon continuance-

"Lowering the curve","Shelter in place","Lockdown"

our new Official Orders.The check is in the mail.
