THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes:

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

YOU SEE A PREVIEW IN YOUR LOCAL TREES
that disguise all timber architecture
Forests are farther away-to be immersed there
is to play with all ancients. No pretty parks-more wild oaks/Trunks
of Elders bearded and Gnostic.Silence lives here, deeper than birdsong.
Most young have never come this deep-to be lost in leaves and foliage.
Once,we would be taken-to be introduced to trees-to learn their true names
so we might respect their longevity and deep communication.Birds trust them.
Animals nest in them, and near and around -are microcosms.Roots sink deep.
There is a tree that fills a city square-dwarfs all high rise towers.Trees
are in love with the wind, which plays with them-and soil ,beneath them. And sun
And storm, winter and change.A forest is all Seasons-death through continuance.
Trees are a language lost to us-unless and until we surrender high rise city blocks
We will not see a forest. We cannot count our loss.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
