South Austin Trees resonate with winged prayers
for wilderness inside and around us is threatened
Birds are on the front line-along with bees and butterflies
All winged creatures have a song-some as silent as the grave
Morning erupts with the coo of doves,the cark of grackles
Polyphony of chant and response-bird to bird ,branch to branch
Symphony of Spring has many notes-all pure as air songs
May each songbird live on!Live long-and prosper!
