Rick Wakeman in Gloucester - emergency update

After many months of negotiation I regret that we have not been able to reach agreement with the owners of the proposed venue for the Rick Wakeman concerts planed for June 2013 but we are now actively seeking an overall solution with the full support of Rick and his management to secure new venues for Rick’s performances. We are confident that a positive announcement will be made by the end of this week and tickets s can officially go on sale. The new venue will be close to the one originally planned in Gloucester in the UK so those with travel plans in place already should thankfully be unaffected.
This will mean that significantly less tickets will be available for fans to buy due to moving to a smaller venue. The organisers will be offering first call to anyone pre-registered at: http://www.gmpfestival.com/priority-booking/
The new venue also means that we need to change Rick’s planned musical programme for Gloucester. It will simply not be possible due to constraints on space and time to create and do justice to the new King Arthur and full Journey in the smaller venue. Rick will however be using the same orchestra and choir, as they have been, like Rick himself, preparing to play for you for some time.
In the revised musical programme Rick will be including elements from both of his masterpieces, Journey and Arthur, together with other well known pieces and indeed a few musical surprises to delight Wakeman fans travelling to the concerts from the UK and around the world.
The organisers wish to express their sincere thanks to everybody for their patience and for keeping the faith. We hope that whatever the new arrangements are that the concerts will continue to receive your full support so that at the end of the day we can all enjoy Rick’s amazing music and the Gloucester Cathedral and associated charities can benefit from this unique happening.
Rick would also like to take this opportunity to confirm that these new Concerts with the band and orchestra are almost certainly likely to be the only Live Performances of Rick Wakeman in the United Kingdom in 2013.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
