Grammy award-winners Yes return to Glasgow with triple-album tour

Renowned for their symphonic style, mystical lyrics and complex instrumentals, rock luminaries Yes are coming to the Clyde Auditorium on May 2.

Founded in 1968 by original members Chris Squire and Jon Anderson, the Yes line up has been unapologetically fluid over the years.
Members returning for this tour are Chris Squire (bass), Steve Howe (guitar), Alan White (drums), Geoff Downes (keyboards), and Jon Davison (vocals) playing the influential The Yes AlbumClose to the Edge and Going for the One.
Drummer Alan White took the time to catch up with us while recording the newest Yes album in Los Angeles.

When you first joined the band did you think that 42 years later you’d still be touring and producing records?

"At that time absolutely not. I don’t think we thought the band would still be going at this time.
"I think the music from the band is a very high standard and we’ve always kept a high standard of musicians. That has contributed to the longevity of the band and it’s still a lot of fun."

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
