King Crimson Reformation Claims Are Fake
Reports of one off show ruled out...
Prog may yet be a dirty word, but King Crimson retain their allure.
Cited by Radiohead, sampled by Kanye West the group's music continues to challenge more than forty years on from their reformation.
Sadly, a fake Twitter account yesterday (February 25th) raised the hopes of fans. Someone purporting to be guitarist Robert Fripp wrote: "I’m ready to announce the reformation of the original line-up of King Crimson for a one-off performance of In The Court of the Crimson King."
Before adding: "Myself, Greg Lake, Michael Giles and Ian McDonald will take the stage this Summer in London to perform the album in full. More details soon."
Sadly, though, the account were unverified. Freelance scribe (and renowned prog expert) Sid Smith broke the news to fans: "The tweet puporting to be from @Robert_Fripp is a fake account - NO truth in KC69 reformation. PLS RT".
