Jon Anderson can dip into quite a canon

Jon AndersonJon Anderson, the signature voice of the band Yes, isn’t in that iconic group anymore.

While he was having throat problems a couple of years ago, the band replaced him with Benoit David, a sound-alike who had fronted a Yes tribute band and now leads the outstanding prog-rock band Mystery.

So Yes has turned to Jon Davison, late of the groups Sky Cries Mary and Glass Hammer, as lead singer.

Now, this story sounds familiar, like when two Yes bands formed in the 1990s — one with Anderson, Bill Bruford, Rick Wakeman and Steve Howe and the other with Chris Squire, Tony Kaye, Alan White and Geoff Downes.

Those two groups eventually got together for the epic “Union” tour, one of the best Yes events of all time.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
