Something Else! sneak peek: Yes, “Your Move/All Good People” from Songs From Tsongas: The 35th Anniversary Concert (2014)

Enough with the Yes/No Yes arguments, already. Let’s stipulate that you fans kind of have the best of all worlds, with a band called Yes sans Jon Anderson, but also Anderson now working on a new album with Jean-Luc Ponty. That’s to say nothing of the on-going careers of fellow former members like Rick Wakeman, Trevor Rabin, Billy Sherwood, et al.
But which one, you hear the unhappy masses crying, is Yes? Who cares? As Jon Anderson, in one of the more memorable Yes solipsisms, sings here on “Your Move/All Good People”: “Don’t surround yourself with yourself.” Still, if you must, then I guess Songs from Tsongas: The 35th Anniversary Concert (due on September 23, 2014 from Eagle Rock) arrives at the perfect moment, serving as this gust of nostalgic peacekeeping. What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
