Rob Ayling writes:
"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" (The wondrous poetpic is by Jack McCabe, who I hope forgives me for scribbling all over it with Photoshop)
SMALL
WE ARE TINY IN THE TUNE OF
DREAMS
Grain of sand on a cosmic beach
Little time,and space and
distance
defines us as provisional and
threatened
Worlds away/other worlds play
perhaps unaware of our
unawareness
Hubble and Tesla and Einstein connect
us
to worlds beyond and inside of
us
We are tiny in the tune of
dreams
And yet-our little planet
sings!
This photo by the Hubble Telescope of
the Andromeda Galaxy, our nearest sister galaxy, taken on January 5, 2015, will
drop you to your knees as you view close-up the hundreds of millions of stellar
objects, star clusters, and the nucleus. If you need a reality check, to
remember how small and insignificant our star, the Sun, is in this context, and
how miraculous it is that the Earth supports life, and that you are a part of it
all, consciously viewing and comprehending, then take a look!(says GORDON
McGILL)
