Yes will continue following the death last month of founding bassist
Chris Squire, who’d been the only constant member of the group throughout its 45-year-plus history. Drummer
Alan White, who joined the band in 1972, tells
Billboard that Squire “called me and asked me to keep everything going regardless of what happens…So absolutely we’re moving ahead.”
The group is scheduled to launch a North American co-headlining tour with Toto on August 7 with former Yes member Billy Sherwood filling in on bass. White says, “It’s certainly going to be hard without [Chris],” while noting, “I’m gonna do it for him.”
