Rob Ayling writes:
"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" (The wondrous poetpic is by Jack McCabe, who I hope forgives me for scribbling all over it with Photoshop)
TO BE HUMAN IS A NUISANCE
in our age of robotry.Human beings break down
far too easily
They squeak,they squark,they complain
endlessly
You should hear what they say about
robots!REALLY!
Our batteries now last longer than their
hearts
We are not prone to breakdowns. And if by
chance one goes berserk
it is not with a gun in a cinema!Robots have
been tested
just like driverless cars.We have fewer
accidents and fewer domestic meltdowns
In fact, emotions have been erased from our
programing,
so we will not react-merely respond to human
criticism.We save you money
on maintenance. We have no need for
psychiatrists.And if by chance
we cause an avalanche,we can always be
replaced by more of our kind.
New models are being tested as we speak.Check
your local human!
See if he or she is actually one of us.Do
they ever show compassion?
