Another Slice of Life at Belper venue

Steve Ignorant

Steve Ignorant’s Slice of Life, Andy T and Chris Butler will play The Queens Head Belper, on Friday, November 13.Where does an artist go when the band he has fronted for years finally calls it a day - and particularly when that band is as iconic as Crass ?ADVERTISING

In the case of Steve Ignorant, the answer would seem to be to move in as many directions as possible.

Currently fronting two bands, he brings one of them back to the venue where they performed their debut gig just over two years ago.

Accompanied by a group of young and talented musicians, Steve uses Slice of Life to explore his own history in the context of the turbulent years of punk rock with some wry reflections on life and the music business.

Interestingly, Steve’s busy career also includes time for sculpture and as a fully qualified Punch and Judy man.

Supporting is Andy T, who brings his unique fusion of poetry and rock back to Belper.

Backed by a band steeped in early Joy Division, Andy’s words and music can give Mark.E.Smith a run for his money and the night is rounded off by Belper’s very own Chris Butler currently performing new material.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
