The Secret Picture with Elton John and Rick Wakeman

Elton John Dan Wooding and Rick Wakeman

LONDON, UK (ANS - November 2, 2015) -- It was a rather extraordinary situation for me when, back in 1978, I had just completed "Rick Wakeman, the Caped Crusader", the official biography of my old friend, Rick Wakeman, the former keyboardist with Yes, and a talented musician who has been rightly named by many critics as the "world's greatest rock keyboard player."

At Rick's request, I had approached Elton John's publicist to see if Elton - now Sir Elton John -- would write the foreword.

To start with, the request was turned down by the lady publicist, but then to my great relief, I got a call from her saying that Elton had agreed to do so. That day, his hand-written foreword was delivered to my home and we were moving towards publication of the book.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
