Hawkwind festival was a storming success

Legendary space-rock band Hawkwind’s visit to Seaton went down a storm - and helped to raise nearly £500 for charity.
The band staged a two day ‘HawkEaster’ festival at the Gateway over the bank holiday weekend, attended by 400 fans who came from around the world.
During the festival, local artist Rich Webster sold two paintings of the founding member, Dave Brock, with community group Seaton’s Voice buying a third painting to be used to raise money for two charities supported by the band - Devon Air Ambulance Trust and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
For the past month fans of Hawkwind have been donating money to the two charities through the Seaton Gateway website and facebook page, raising a total of £448 which will be shared equally between them.
