Many of whom are led forth by their tethered dogs
Walk,stroll,perambulate,promenade
along the thin hot streets of the South.Here,trees
are as old and retired as their "owners"-but the tree canopy
covers widely(as there are no footpaths).So we meet en passant
wave,smile,nod or gently affirm each other's existences..
Thosewhodonotlivehere drive roughly fast down the 25 mph lanes
and are waved down by dog-and -children owners walking..
Peace before the blast iron furnace day heats up.We wave
to acknowledge each other.This is the way..
