THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

EMERGENCY PREPARATIONS

for floods,fires,power outages-

All of which have happened recently

So we ask-where is a safe place?

Neighbor's home?Library?Community Center?

What GO BAG contents do we need?

Of course-a light when the power goes out

Water if the available supply is tainted

Food supplies in case of EMERGENCY

But none of these are enough-

A FIRST AID kit,a poncho,phone numbers

for Ambulance,Police,Fire Brigade..

None of these is enough-what we most need

in any ongoing emergency-is human beings

we can rely upon-and trust..
