Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes:
"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"
MANY WALL MURALS LIVE IN AUSTIN,TEXAS
Kenny Dorham's Backyard(named after a famed local Austin trumpeter-
has murals behind the main stage celebrating Black music cultures
Less specifically music murals -HI!HOW ARE YOU? by local musician Daniel Johnston
on the walls of Guadalupe, where other famed musicians are visually displayed on local walls.
Stevie Ray Vaughn and Willy Nelson both have statues to their local status,
and the old Tower records site on the Drag retains film and music heroic images.
Hole in the Walls mural was celebrated by Bob Dylan.People ARE noticing..
there are political, cultural and musical heroes celebrated on Austin Walls.
The HOPE OUTDOOR GALLERY has moved -but it was a site for instant fame by musician muralists
Everything already exists-there is no need to re-invent the wheel.
Austin remembers her musical ghosts freely and well-
You just have to look-to see..
