THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

Whether it be war,climate change or Nature

Habitat is evolving/mutating.

We displaced Indigenous flora,fauna,humans

Now we are following the bison,wolf,bear

We re-build in earthquake zones(like San Francisco)

Troy had seven cities on one site-and Rome

was not destroyed in a  day.Excavations continue

at Pompeii and Herculaneum.Reconstruction @Antakya,

Chenobyl,Fukushima.War zones like Ukraine /Syria

require Superfunds and Marshall Plans.World Bank

assists with refugee camps in Little Lebanon.Ruins have changed.

Once,we would travel and pay to see Colosseums ,Pyramids,Acropolis..

Ancient ruins,romantic,smelling of older civilizations.Now cities are war zones,

and cultures are being lost and destroyed rather than curated and saved.

Remember Taliban bombing Buddhist sculptures in Afghanistan?

Antakya was Antioch,on the old Silk Road.Earthquakes have reduced the past to rubble.

The "Old City"especially.How many copies of Stonehenge?What of Antioch?
