LINK: Jon Anderson Suggested 3-Album Yes Tour Years Ago

Jon Anderson
Bad brains: Jon Anderson
Former Yes singer Jon Anderson says the idea of playing multiple albums in full on each night of a tour was something he came up with years ago – but his bandmates thought it was crazy.
The prog icons, now fronted by Glass Hammer vocalist Jon Davison, are performing 1971′s The Yes Album, 1972′s Close To The Edge and 1977′s Going For The One in their entirety on a trek that kicked off last week.
Anderson tells Something Else: “I actually talked about doing that a couple of times. I put forward that idea about 10 years ago, that we should do something very special.
“I wanted to call it The Yes Festival: we would stay in one area, and Friday, Saturday, Sunday we’d play an album or two per night.
“They thought I was out of my brain! But fans could have spent time with the band. We could do solo performances then a big concert. We could create a festival atmosphere. You talk about stuff like that because you’re itching to do something different.”

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
