Rob Ayling writes:
"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" (The wondrous poetpic is by Jack McCabe, who I hope forgives me for scribbling all over it with Photoshop)
SLIPPING INTO WATERS
MY SISTER KNOWS!
She
takes me to my favorite waterfall
where
i let descending waters
splash
all blockages out of me
Sitting
on that rock at Hamilton Pool is too small
Krauss
Springs too crowded.When sorrows sit
and
peck @my entrails,i used to slip into Sandringham Beach
until
the waters were neck high.Rolling moon tides
slipped
my sorrows into deep.Water heals. It was HOLY before Churches!
We
drink liquidity ,flush out toxins, wash our wounds
and
trust in water's purity. Some Buddhists chant near water
other
indigenous ask for water to bless us.
We
cam from water.Did not evolve much. That is why we go back
to
beach and swamp,to slap all wars out of us/remind us of origins.
Finned
and gilled once.Now we catch us-and (hopefully)-RELEASE!
