Rock and Roll Hall of Famer revisits early progressive rock

Steve Hackett
Guitarist and composer Steve Hackett brings his Genesis Extended tour to the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord for a 7:30 p.m. show Sunday, Nov. 16.

Hackett, whose work with the seminal band during its progressive rock years from 1971 to 1977, was inducted in 2010 into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the 25th annual ceremony alongside the early lineup of Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford.
The New Hampshire show is a followup to the “Genesis Revisited I and II” tours, which took place in 1996 and 2012, respectively.

On recent recordings, Hackett reinterpreted Genesis classics with guest performers including Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree), Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth), Simon Collins (Phil Collins’ son), Amanda Lehmann, Conrad Keely, Francis Dunnery, Neal Morse, John Wetton, Nad Sylvan and Nik Kershaw.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
