CAGE
(Unless it was a messenger pigeon,or
could race
or had some magical qualities that
demanded special treatment
A dove is treasured-for its peaceful
mo(u)rning songs
So it is often caged(or shot in hunting
season)and eaten
Its very tiny heart a treasured
item.Cages are valuable,too-
you pay in time for enforced
closures-for Walls and Jails and Zoos
And the very nature of caged animals
becomes different to the wild,feral,free denizens of skies..
In fact,some lose their very wings.We
do not know why
