JUST UP OUR STREET,HOMELESS GATHER
Their tents were removed by that Texas Governor
The Council,compassionate.Our neighbors,angry.
Homeless are visible on this Thanksgiving Day
SALES!are booming with Christmas merchandise
All round our neighborhood-Christmas Lights!
But the parcels are empty in all Shopping Malls
Black Friday calls,and we answer
Roads packed with travelers home for their families
Those without friends contemplate suicide
This shopping season,even Veterans decease themselves
Hard to be happy with no one to hold
For those with a memory,the First Thanksgivings
Displaced Indigenous,who chose to be generous
They were repaid with aggression and dispossession
Hard to celebrate when your land has been stolen
Do not even think of that turkey industry
Nation sedated by dosed tryptophan
While we are sleeping off gluttony consumption
Indigenous are calling for land to return
Vegans/vegetarians-your future is calling!
World is awaiting permaculture/recycling
Plastic must find a way for reduction
Our minds hearts combine to find Thanksgiving solutions
So THIS is what i am grateful for-peace,prosperity
Generosity for all!
