THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes:

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

CALLING FOR COMPANIONS
PASSING THROUGH
I AM HERE (BUT NOT FOR LONG)
My ancestors sang this song
and now i do not have them
to sing along. I recall
sand particles,but not the Pyramids
Waves but not the beach.
Journeys but not all. I am only particle.
Wave Theory is true for every wave
Particle Theory true for every Particle.
Journeys true for those who embrace them
And you are as true as we believe you to be
Parts of me get stuck in Pasts
that fall away into the Dark.
My Spark as Temporary as Fireflies.
I adapt to circumstance-dance
with, then without ,masks on-Stage 3 then Stage 4 song
Want y'all to sing along
But you are cynical, believe nothing at all
Say that science is conspiracies
Want to Resurrect Trump Autocracies
But the very freedom you are abusing
you would not get under him.
Me?i am here ,grounded in this moment
I lose my pasts and futures in it
'And when i turn to speak with you
I want you to BE HERE TOO!

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
