Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes:
"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"
WONDER BREAD
I play for crumbs of your Blessed company
Follow through these Labyrinthine days
Bread of life is puffed salt sugars
Wheat is for the upper classes
You eat as though no tomorrow portion
Wolf it down slice by slice
Share the bread? I see division
among the Grim Reapers IRS
If you were to plant your porridge
Seed your trees and foliage
I would bargain basement Tomorrows
might be more bounteous
But bread and water is a dungeon too
a torture of the obvious. We can last without much food
but water dries up all without. So feed all Dragons of your appetites
We will have Feasting here, tonight!
And share the slices of Tomorrows
when Harvests reward us -
joy over sorrow
