Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes:
"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

STORM WITHIN A STORM
YOU SAY THERE IS CALM WITHIN A STORM
That there is Zen stillness and equilibrium
That is not the case. Our world is in turmoil.
It spins off orbit, making shorter days and longer nights
Nothing is Almanac predictable.Rain .Rumpists.Republicans.
The only way to surf a Tsunami is to ride the wave(above and beyond..
My sister worked on yachts. She was in Sumatra on a hill, watching
lots of rich yachts colliding and smashing in the Tsunami wake..
Millions of dollars turned to matchsticks.I think of this
every New Year's Eve.I seek the Genuine Epiphany..
One New Year's Eve,in New York-there was a stabbing in Queens
so all celebrants were cordoned off, block by block. So nothing happened.
Another Eve ,at Sydney Opera House,I saw the Angels and Midnight Oil
perform punk style to half a million broken glass people.I do not like fireworks.
To me(cat)they are a fulminating war zone..So the most peaceful storm
that i have ever witnessed-was at a Down to Earth festival..I saw
frenzied Bacchanalian,Dionysian dancers all leaping flames around a fire..
Up on the hill-Apollinarians meditating in a circle around Brazilian Singing Bowls..
It was the calm within the storm..Peace and love and harmonies within the Wilds..
While the drinking drunken crazed leapt like flames..Peace within a circle of sentience/
Content like a Bubble of Light from Zardoz...
