Rob Ayling writes:
"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth, Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" (The wondrous poetpic is by Jack McCabe, who I hope forgives me for scribbling all over it with Photoshop)
FUNGI THE MOON THE PUPIL OF A HUMAN EYE
are round,roughly circular-something in our referent world of
vision
that
reassures.We are both part and apart.Stones on the beach Cot Valley Cornwall are
all egg shaped and huge.
Sea
creatures and stars are spirals like nebulae and galaxies whirling huge above
us,and within
there
are no straight lines,just bendings.Hence bent trees for Aboriginal /indigenous
shelter
Gypsy
wagons with bent roofs.Medicine wheel with Four Directions within.
Stars
and seashells spiral chambers of our hearts.Mimesis=raths and round
houses.
Tara,Uisneach,Illaunloughan,Boscawen-Ur
in Cornwall=responses to a curved world.
Even
straight lines curve over huge distances.Parallel lines meet
@infinity.
We
are on a rolling rock in dark space surrounded by dark matter
All
our points of light are elliptical,spherical,irregular.We (still!)follow
stars!
Riverbeds
from plane height are wormlike,not straight.Imposed
geometry=squares/rectangles/skylines
Bring back
attunement to spirals and circles.Listen to the seashell oceans!
