Folk stars at Citadel

Fairport Convention who are appearing at The CitadelFolk music legends Fairport Convention will welcome their longest-serving member back to the fold when they arrive in St Helens with a spring tour stop at The Citadel.

The band, made up of vocalist and guitarist Simon Nicol, mandolin player, violinist and vocalist Chris Leslie, bassist Dave Pegg and percussionist Gerry Conway, will perform tracks spanning their career of more than 40 years.

The show will also mark a welcome back to Fairport for Dave, who severed a tendon in his hand in a kitchen accident earlier this year and had to hand four-string duties over to his son Matt. Fans at the Waterloo Street venue will enjoy an intimate semi-acoustic show mixing new tracks with old favourites from the folk-rock band’s back catalogue of classic albums.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
