Rob Ayling writes:
"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" (The wondrous poetpic is by Jack McCabe, who I hope forgives me for scribbling all over it with Photoshop)
DO YOU REMEMBER YOUR DEATH?
GENERALLY,WE PAY THEM NO MIND
They
have gone and we are silent
We
do not speak ill of the dead
Our
entertainments -vampires,ghosts,ghouls
Our
TV and Movies made to scare
Yet
a quietude.Respect.Gentleness.Meditation
On
mirror passing.Light departing. All we are mutating
until
stillness.Cease pulse.Only movement gravity.
We
could watch our decline over age.Day Of Dead.Night of Dreaming.
Twilight
between veils of world-where merging, returning, departing mix
and
we are part of our spectrum of living.Until..
then
other spirits in flesh will remember us as we are now
And
if they do not,it matters less/than what is gold within this tooth
moment
Bite
deep into the flesh of NOW-to find a truth that hides within
Only
comes out when we get ready to leave.Again..
