Rob Ayling writes:
"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied with in seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not? why not indeed!!" (The wondrous poetpic is by Jack McCabe, who I hope forgives me for scribbling all over it with Photoshop)
A IS FOR BANKSY
ART IS FOR PEOPLE
It sings their silence
in images that are mirrors of
our time
If we deny what we see-we are
not looking
Our eyes are all we have-and
hands to draw and hug and cuddle with
Our ears as we hear stories and
share them
our little world needs all of
all of us to open doors
Put windows in walls ,and
change prisons into gardens
This starts where we are-then
grows in beauty and in wonder

Banksy unveils a new video and series of pieces in Gaza, Palestine
The Video is titled "Make this the year YOU discover a new
destination"
Two quotes were enclosed with the images of the new stenciled
pieces:
A local man came up and said 'Please - what does this mean?' I explained I
wanted to highlight the destruction in Gaza by posting photos on my website –
but on the internet people only look at pictures of kittens. -- Banksy
Gaza is often described as 'the world's largest open air prison' because
no-one is allowed to enter or leave. But that seems a bit unfair to prisons -
they don’t have their electricity and drinking water cut off randomly almost
everyday. -- Banksy
one of the new pieces is text based and reads: "If We Wash Our Hands Of The
Conflict Between The Powerful And The Powerless We Side With The Powerful - We
Don't Remain Neutral"
