In a limited edition of "Anthology" is in addition to the CD, a DVD, the video clips that you recognize her modest budget, and contains interesting interviews with the band and Cover Artist Rodney Matthews. Unfortunately negative falls on the sloppy documentation. The title list on the CD sleeve fluttered intro and outro and identify the other pieces in the wrong order. The content of the DVD is not specified.

An overlooked gem.
There was once a young singer, who formed a band. The band was repeatedly reshuffled, renamed and once even temporarily disbanded. When after many years no more than two, three singles and a local notoriety had come out as a live band, he threw back unnerved, leaving his colleagues the naming rights to the group. A year later, the band had a record deal and began an international career. The singer called Al Atkins and the band JUDAS PRIEST. From 1990 AL ATKINS made solo albums, and in 2010 he founded with his guitarist Paul May the ATKINS MAY PROJECT. After three studio albums "Serpents Kiss" (2011), "Valley Of Shadows" (2012) and "Empire Of Destruction" (2014) is now already the first compilation "Anthology" published.
This section presents the project its powerful Metal with slight prog list. In classic heavy metal one thinks of screaming guitars and high, penetrating voices like those of Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson or Udo Dirkschneider. Of these, the ATKINS MAY PROJECT differs significantly. Al Atkins has a deep, growling voice, the rhythm guitars are usually tuned down, the drums, the bass drum more vermöbelt than the snare drum, the music is heavier, bulkier and partly slow and often transports a somber mood. Along with the bright lead guitar one discovers in the quieter pieces such as the twelve-minute 'Whisper To The Wind' or 'Valley Of Shadows' a distant resemblance to the gothic rock.
Consistently deliver Al Atkins and Paul May who composed and produced and more or less all the instruments played, haunting samples of their creations like 'Here Comes The Rain', 'Harder They Fall' or 'The shallowing' from. Exclusively on "Anthology" is a cover of Phil Collins' 'In The Air Tonight'. I initially rolls his eyes and thought: Not another metal band that totrifft a pop song and so that our music and proves a great disservice. But I was proved wrong. With his style mentioned the ATKINS MAY PROJECT is off to a very respectable, independent interpretation of radio hits.
The ATKINS MAY PROJECT is not a bizarre appearance of the Metal universe, on which one throws a quick glance, because the singer was in PRIEST times. With an original play of Heavy Metal and very worth listening to pieces, it deserves attention in its own right.
