Barbara Dickson famously appeared on the West End in numerous notable roles in the original and replacement casts of many memorable shows including EVITA, CHESS, BLOOD BROTHERS and MAMMA MIA!, among others, in addition to a long-running studio recording career.
The official description of BARBARA DICKSON: LIVE AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL is as follows: "A CD/DVD set from Scottish singer and actress Barbara Dickson performing a selection of her best loved tracks in front of a sell-out crowd at the Royal Albert Hall in 1987. Hits include Pride (In The Name Of Love), Another Suitcase In Another Hall, As Time Goes By and many more. The CD has never previously been released. Includes in conversation interludes with British TV presenter John Sachs. The Scottish singer has placed fifteen albums in the UK Albums Chart from 1977 to date, and had a number of hit singles, including four which reached the Top 20 in the UK Singles Chart. The Scotsman newspaper has described her as Scotland's best-selling female singer in terms of the numbers of hit chart singles and albums she has achieved in the UK since 1976. She is also a two-time Olivier Award-winning actress, with roles including Viv Nicholson in the musical Spend Spend Spend and she was the original Mrs. Johnstone inWilly Russell's long-running musical Blood Brothers.
