Ex-choir girl’s gig with rocker Rick Wakeman

Lizee Weedy will be performing at the Lancaster Music Festival in October

The 20-year-old student from Lancaster said: “I sang with the Priory choir from age seven to 18 so it is lovely to be able to go back and perform, especially alongside such an influential figure in contemporary music”.

Rick, who has played all over the world with musicians such as David Bowie, Elton John and Ozzy Osbourne, will be joined on stage with Lizee and members of the Lancaster Priory Choir.

Lizee said: “I was actually thinking about purchasing tickets for the concert then I got a call asking me to perform. It’s a huge compliment.

“We’ll be doing a version of Ava Maria with the Priory Choir that Rick performed with his daughter as well as one of Rick’s hits from 1989, The Meeting”.

What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
