as Chinese as their disappearance.I live in

where cars and trucks steal silence.Trains

Noise and vibrations-yet Hockney/Smart share
a Classic stillness
their paintings New
York/Australia/Californian,with an Arcadian optimism
that belies pollution,waste,detritus.Art can
fool us well-it sells emotions
We so much want Arcadia we will paint murals
on Gaza prison walls
and paint wings on children,so they can fly
away.
