HARRAH’S CONCERT VENUE // 8 P.M. SUNDAY, SEPT. 20

WHO ARE THEY: Zappa Plays Zappa is a project that was put together by the late Frank Zappa’s son Dweezil Zappa. For more than a year, Dweezil Zappa locked himself away in a studio, meticulously studying every nuance of his father’s music from its complex arrangements to its subtle tonalities in an attempt to fully understand the fundamentals of the music. When assembling the touring band, Zappa went out looking for a group of younger musicians who could help translate this music to the next generation of fans. Dweezil Zappa has released numerous albums, beginning in 1986 with “Havin’ a Bad Day” and continuing on through 2006’s “Go With What You Know” and the recent “F.O.H.3- Out of Obscurity.”

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
