THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes: 

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

10.Honesty
Scratched upon rock,the names of virtues
held as important in cultures long lost
Language alone holds the key
to the values long buried underneath
When translated into "ordinary speak"
they mean a common understanding
of the cave world we all live within.
There are words for war ,as well as peace
We need new words.Some can be ancient.

 
Archaeologists at the Mugello Valley Archaeological Project have uncovered what may be a rare sacred text, inscribed on a large sandstone slab at an Etruscan temple. Greg Warden, project co-director and AIA Trustee, called the discovery "remarkable," hoping it can further understanding of Etruscan language and religion.
