"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Tom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! ON THE BRAVERY OF LIVING

SAY YOU ARE IN PAIN

and the wounds are endless

Emotionally depressed

in a Trough of Despond

You consider self-termination

so there is an end

Something brings you back

to breathing gratitude again

Whether it be friend or dream or family

We are linked and attached indefinitely

Community calls us to respond with life

Even in a war world of continuing strife

You do not need a reason to live

You still have so much more to give
