"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?
SUNDAY TENNIS
SUNDAY TENNIS
WE WOULD MEET @THE DICKINS
HOUSE
(i cannot remember if the tennis court
was at or simply near their
home-but
we had many local courts then, and
tennis
was a National Sport..(Rod Laver,Fred
Stolle,Rod Emerson-
they were my heroes..i had their
autographs
and would see them play @Milton Tennis
Courts..
But,locally,we would play on Sunday
afternoons-for fun.For friendship
Barry Dickins a famed local writer .It was
his little brother/my friend
Their mother would make tea and scones to
welcome us all
Those Sundays slow and smiling and
sunny
Even poems, songs and stories cannot conjure
up such sweet and simple sunshine times
But you can try..VISUALIZE..Now try the
scones for size.Sugar in your tea?
