THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?

DISENCHANTMENT, ACTUALLY

RE-ENCHANTMENT

As we coat Mars rockets with Myth and Grace

and planetary travel with ICARUS and CHALLENGER

Worm holes,dark space,dark matter ,black swans

are all imaginative weavings of old stories/fables/legends,

embroidered with modern tools /technology.

Yeats was a pagan,Wordsworth wanted to be a pagan

Sir Isaac Newton was an alchemist,and every learned scientist

stole concepts from those earthy Greeks-from Aristotle to Anaximander to Anaximenes..

Philosophers were early scientists,sifting proofs from observations

Scientism wages media wars with global climate change(deniers)

and private Corporation space flights.AVATAR posits mining

as a destroyer of environment-and we transport such processes to space.

Movies from 2012 to ARMAGEDDON create dystopic visions.

Nature now means Tsunamis,hurricanes,floods and de-afforestation

New New Romanticism seeds new growth multi-species(of thoughts

and gilds the robotic lily with Eden /Reborn in Cornwall

practicing for Moon and Mars Space Colonies..

Solutions only need-someone to believe..
