Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes:
"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"
THE NEW YORKER: Bringing Keats Back to Life
IF THERE SEEMS NO POETRY IN COVID TIMES
We can resurrect the past digitally with CGI
Bring back Keats with his ODE TO AUTUMN
Let him speak in the language he grew up in
Despite those critics of his times,NEVERTHELESS,HE PERSISTED!
Just as William Blake was told by his peers to drop the poetry and sell the etchings
"He will never make a living as a poet". And it is true-
Poetry is soul food, nourished by the Muse
Able only to feed one starving poet at a time, and even then thin gruel
For even if he speaks back from the dead
There are no retrospective Royalties for truth
Every time must persecute their Muse
lest the singing birds of wisdom
escape their mock golden cage
