Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes:
"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"
HOME IS WHERE YOU CAN RELAX
HOME IS WHERE YOU FEEL SAFE
Birds have nests(which are seasonal)
Bears and bats have caves.
Snakes can rest under stones or in holes, hidden
Fish have water they cannot drink
Whales get ejected by sonar to suicide on beach
Every home is temporary as flesh Death evicts us.
If we come back,it is with no memory.
New skin ,old ceremonies.Learn,forget,re-learn.
Safety is primary ..Our skin is sanctified.
Violated,we, refugees, seek any space to be.
Palestinians and Syrians in Lebanon.
Everyone in America. We all have many homes.
Some are made of emotions. Strong. Stable.
Even they burn, with crosses on the lawn.
Stone is cold as castles walls. All castles fall.
You recall best when home was most secure.
When you were most at ease-in your sanctuary skin.
Your only heart home-within...
