THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

 TWO YEARS SOLITARY

CONFINED TO BARRACKS

with no hugs nor holding patterns

just lockdown in home quarters

waiting for the plague to pass.

So,i,too ,send poems to the vulnerable

When i see their birthday on Facebook

and i know they have passed on..

Lack of response is no guarantee of death

Nor response a proof of life.Families respond-

updating the casualty list.Friends share as to who is here

But the real trust is to see them turn up at a live open mic

Then we can hug and hold on to the proposition

that the living can create and continue

And we can roll like waves together

Until we hit the hard walls/splatter

into one million shards of glass poems

and see Light reflected and refracted

splashed upon the highway grass
