BUT OUR BIRD FEEDER IS A SQUIRREL FEEDER!
Those rats with tails raid the birdseed ruthlessly
They scurry away when i wave like a scarecrow
but return to devastate the offerings for our gentle avian visitors
For years ,we have been selectively kind to our backyard ferals-
possums,Houston toads(Yes-we have a Toad Home),
garter snakes,lizards,various gregarious wild creatures
who nibble at our compost,chew upon our flowers
and find something nutritious in our weedy flowerings.
This is why we welcome this menagerie-but those squirrels!
Mischievous,over-sexed(it IS Spring!),mutant rodents
They find acorns and bury them for winter,eating everything else.
They scare our peaceful birds away-which is why bird feeders fail..
Same with Ukraine.
