It helps if you are the most over-governed nation on earth
With local,State and Federal governments ruling over citizens
It helps if you have a National Health Service
long established and trusted by all citizens
It also helps if you maintain private health insurance
for a higher grade of treatment,and a choice of doctors
You may,if in closing all Borders,and making a Fortress Australia
You still allow rich people in with 14 days quarantine and hotels chosen for them
You can ignore demonstrations,as you have effectively banned massed gatherings
You can determine your responses scientifically,as to infection rate
Borders can be shut down again.Army can be called in.
Pockets of resistance can be dealt with militarily-jail time ,huge fines..
It really helps if most citizens agree with stern measures,and submit
Family re-unions may have to wait two years.Infection rates
can be monitored and controlled like civil liberties.
Australia is only now opening air,sea and land routes.
Our population is small.It did not get much smaller.
