Rob Ayling, yer Gonzo Grande Fromage, writes:
"Thom the World poet is an old mate of mine from way back in my history. Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"
LYRICAL LULLABYE
SOOTHED TO SOFT SLEEP SIESTA
by strummed or picked guitar or dulcimer
Cadences of harmonies elicited by hands
that stroke and coax melodies from hollow wood
which itself has been formed to better echo
softest/brightest intentions of a world
that once was Muse, welcoming all to
waves of undulations/Oceans of meanings
Wise ones knew that words were few
Enough to cast spells and incantations
their lyric strength deferred all death
For LIFE! was their purest intention.
Now instruments remain ,packed away-
Your keyboard hands,toe-tapping feet,your brain
remains full of wordclouds and rain music..
Water only changes form and intention
Fog and mist and Spring and rainstorm
all feed your Muse,as it has always done
So shall it create,again...
