THOM THE WORLD POET: The Daily Poem

Even pre-dating Voiceprint, when I was running "Otter Songs" and Thom's poetry tapes and guest appearances with Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth and Mother Gong are well known and highly regarded. It just felt right to include a daily poem from Thom on our Gonzo blog and when I approached him to do so, he replied within seconds!!! Thom is a great talent and just wants to spread poetry, light and positive energy across the globe. If we at Gonzo can help him do that - why not?"

SHELTER IS ESSENTIAL

Every Habitat is Sacred

Every bird on the wing

Bison on prairie.Fish in the sea

But we displace trees ,whales,living beings

Unless they look like us.And,even Zen,

we discriminate in terms of wealth.

Gated Communities.Executive Mansions.Private islands.

Bird in hunting season.Whales and dolphins slaughtered

Who are we to demand housing -when we dispossess Indigenous?

Ask Indigenous flora,fauna,Aborigines.Ursula le Guin's "The Dispossessed"

Stories in languages suppressed.Land grabs.Rents and evictions rise.Put HOUSING in the Bill of Rights-

but first allow birds,bees,butterflies to co-exist in more than Sanctuaries ..Give Reparations to Gaia..

All elements have stories.We do not listen to their languages.Until land burns and mansions scorch.

First love ,shelter and protect all that was here before us.Next,provide original habitat .Re-wild everywhere..

Release wolf and bear to wilderness.Let feral run free in their original territories

Only Zen can we seek shelter for each other.We are New here.We need to listen.We need to learn..
